Suspension right call for boozing players – Murphy
EX-MUNSTER player Barry Murphy thinks the Wallabies made the right call suspending six Aussie players for boozing before their match against Ireland.
Adam Ashley Cooper, Nick Cummins, Liam Gill, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Benn Robinson and Paddy Ryan were all partying in Krystle nightclub on Tuesday night.
Murphy (30) said the players' behaviour shows a lack of respect.
"That sort of thing just doesn't happen in international rugby. You might have a pint after the game if you deserve it but not on a Tuesday before a match," he told the Herald.
"They still won but that's not the point – it shows a lack of discipline and a lack of respect for the rest of the squad and the coach. It would never happen on the Irish team. The Aussies are the only ones who do that."
Barry left rugby at the age of 28 and is now the lead singer with folk rock group Hermitage Green.
