O'Connor calls on Douglas and Ryan

By Des Berry

Leinster coach Matt O'Connor has recalled lock Kane Douglas and flanker Dominic Ryan to play against Wasps in the decisive Champions Cup clash tomorrow.

He has not really followed through on his hint to call on "experience," leaving Mike Ross out of the 23-man squad again, as Mike McCarthy and Jack Conan drop down to the bench.

O'Connor has also resisted the temptation to opt for veteran Ireland international Gordon D'Arcy in the centre, preferring to stay with the distribution and goal-kicking of Ian Madigan outside Jimmy Gopperth.

While Leinster will have to take caution to keep their structures intact, they will not turn away from their natural instinct to attack.

There is the golden carrot of a home quarter-final for the three-time champions if they can carve out an away win.

With Munster and Ulster out, the IRFU would welcome the financial benefit from a quarter at The Aviva Stadium.

Replacements: R Strauss, J Hagan, T Furlong, M McCarthy, J Conan; I Boss, G D'Arcy, D Fanning.
