North East gets off to flyer

Last Wednesday week saw the inaugural game of the North East Coca-Cola competition get underway. The first two teams to take the field were St Mary's Diocesan and Drogheda Grammar School.

Two fixtures took place in Drogheda Grammar School, with both junior and senior teams playing each other.

The juniors of St Mary's overcame the Grammar School but it was levelled up by the successful Grammar School senior side. Both games were entertaining with great skills on show thanks to coaches Colman Ledwith of St Mary's and Paul Kennedy of the Grammar School.

It was a great start to what hopefully will be a great competition which involves another five Schools: St Joseph's, Gormanstown, Ardee, Coláiste Na Hinse and Ard Gillian.
