Lorraine shaken by sick porn and RIP messages sent to her home

The former Xpose presenter has told of how she has been a target for small-minded perverts since she began her career on screen more than 10 years ago.

She believes that she has become a magnet for abuse because she is a celebrity on a small island like Ireland.

"I've had some interesting letters over the years," she said.

"I've had porn sent to me but the most upsetting fan mail I've ever had was RIP mass cards which sent a shiver down my spine.

"I got a couple of RIP mass cards which said I was a slut or something, and naturally that was pretty upsetting.

"I also got a lot of porn centre-spreads sent to the house, which I found upsetting too.

"But I'd forget about them and then I'd open the post and there'd be this porn pull-out. It was creepy but that has been few and far between."

Although the TV star admits that the negative side of stardom has been tough, she goes on to compliment the majority of the public for their support.

"The reaction I get from the public is so lovely. I can count the bad stuff on one hand. The good stuff far outweighs the bad."

Keane caused a media storm last year when she quit her role on TV3's flagship showbiz programme Xpose, a move she claims to have made to re-evaluate her life.

Since the career change the beauty has gone from strength to strength and last year joined the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker and Davina McCall as a spokesperson for cosmetic giant Garnier.

"I am the first Irish spokesperson for Garnier. Sarah Jessica is the American spokesperson and Davina is the UK spokeswoman, so I'm in great company," she said.

"I was thrilled to be asked to work for them because those campaigns can be very effective.

"I could never do any commercial contracts when I was with TV3 so it was brilliant to be able to say yes."

She also went on to say that since she left Xpose she has actually got to spend more time with her fellow presenters.

"Before, we were just like passing ships in the night because I was so busy with my own family and my large extended family," she said.
