A report on the Donabate Beach ‘Restore and Portect’ pilot project is expected this month, according to Fingal County Council.

At a recent area committee meeting. Cllr Paul Mulville asked for a progress report o the project.

He asked the council to “provide an update on the pilot and on consideration of the establishment of the Beach Management Committees for each beach in the Balbriggan/Rush-Lusk/Swords area”.

In response, the council issued a written report, stating: “ A representative from Clean Coasts will bring a report on the Donabate Beach Restore and Protect Pilot to the January meeting of this Area Committee.

“Consideration of the merits of establishing individual Beach Management Committees for each beach within the Operational Area, as well as the resources required to support these in a meaningful manner, can take place in the coming months.”
