Golfers recently enjoyed the fantastic Deer Park Golf course participating in the Howth RNLI Lifeboats Golf Classic.

The weather was perfect, the golf course was in great condition and the atmosphere was very convivial.

A good turnout of 35 teams of four competed in the Golf Classic and the winners were Team Theresa Donaldson of Donabate Golf Club. Playing with Theresa were Jenny McGuinness, Siobhan Reid and Mary Shanahan.

A monster raffle was held with great prizes kindly donated by Golf Clubs and many companies.

Tetrarch Capital, owners of Deer Park Golf, generously allowed Howth Lifeboat to use the 18 hole golf course for the event, and ensured that it was in prime condition. There were many complimentary comments afterwards by the competitors.

Thanks goes from the organisers to Tetrarch Capital, Deer Park Golf and the golfers and supporters.

Their support ensures the safety of the Howth lifeboat volunteer crew. It provides them with the kit, training and equipment they need to save lives in all weathers. It fuels the lifeboats, it powers the station and, ultimately, it brings them back home to their families - and reunites those they rescue with theirs.

Howth RNLI lifeboat station has been operating since 1862. (Howth Lifeboat station was established prior to 1825.
