Davies: Pressure on Wales
AFTER last week's comprehensive defeat to Argentina, Wales will be looking to salvage their November Series against Samoa tonight.
Interim Wales coach Rob Howley (right) has made eight changes for the clash with Samoa.
Former Wales fly-half Jonathan Davies, a dual-code international, believes the pressure is on Wales to deliver a victory to get their campaign back on track.
"After last week's performance, the pressure is now on them," said Davies.
"They cannot afford to lose against Samoa and it is going to be a very tough game."
Davies believes interim coach Howley has picked a strong Wales side and has backed the selection changes to face Samoa.
"(Justin) Tipuric is a form player," said Davies.
"Dan Biggar has played exceptionally well this year and he has varied and managed his game very well."
Samoa warmed up for the encounter with a 42-12 win over Canada at Colwyn Bay's Eirias Park and Canada boss Gareth Rees believes Wales will have to turn Samoa on the ball to win.
"I think going forward Samoa are a very good side, there is no question about that," said Rees. "I mean, we didn't get our hands on the ball for about 20 minutes of the game.
"I think Rob Howley and the crew will be trying to get them to turn around and play on the back foot a little bit more."
