TII and council aim to speed up bypass

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has pledged to work in parallel with Louth CC in a bid to speed up the delivery of the Ardee Bypass.

In the letter to local Fine Gael TD, Fergus O'Dowd, Chief Executive of TII, Michael Nolan also pledged TII's support to fund the delivery of the project in line with the National Development Plan.

Deputy O'Dowd said, 'accelerating the Ardee Bypass project by paralleling some of the required activities leading up to the construction stage is welcome news. The Ardee Bypass project is the most vital piece of infrastructure to be undertaken in Ardee and mid Louth and will benefit the town and the residents of Ardee for generations to come.'

Cathaoirleach of the Ardee Municipal Council, Cllr Dolores Minogue remarked, "Deputy O'Dowd and I have prioritised this project and we were over the moon when the project was finally added to the National Roads Project under the NDP. The review that is taking place is a delay but it's great to see firm commitments .'
