Rossin keep 100 per cent record

EARLY Division 4 pace-setters Rossin Rovers continued their 100% start to the league season with this hard-fought victory in Cavan on Sunday.

The Meath club made light of the windy conditions and struck first through Dylan Maguire, but just as Virginia were threatening to conjure an equaliser in the second half Rossin doubled their advantage. Early substitute Declan Mullen's deft head-flick did the damage as he continued his good form in front of goal.

Rossin didn't have things all their own way, though. With 20 minutes left Virginia got back into contention to set up a tight finish, and the visitors were grateful to centre-halves Niall Coyle and Darragh Johnston for helping to keep their goal intact in the latter stages.

ROSSIN ROVERS: David Melia, Kevin Dunne, Robbie Carolan, Darragh Johnston, Niall Coyle, Rory Crinion, Hugh Callan, James Butler, Dylan Maguire, Damien O'Brien, Andy McGinnity (Declan Mullen, Aaron Melia).
