Carlingford and Glenmore were the venues as Ardee & District athletes braved cold and wet weather on consecutive days last weekend.

Róisín Whyte and Ben Corcoran thoroughly enjoyed the Carlingford 10k on Saturday and came away exhilarated by their experience, while the next day there was a hint of Storm Freya on her way as the races began promptly at Glenmore AC's Juvenile Cross-Country event.

Up first for the Ardee club , running 500m, were the Boys U-9 team of Harry Breen, TomJoe McCormack and brothers Kristupas and Jokubus Ruškys.

With prizes for the first 10 home all four boys were amazing as Harry, TomJoe and Kristupas finished fifth, seventh and ninth respectively, with Jokubus just missing out on a medal in 11th place.

Two dedicated young lads, Oran Lynch and Daniel Cirdei, run a very competitive Boys U-11 800m, with Oran coming home in seventh position, winning a medal, with Daniel 13th.

Ardee's sole female runner on the day, Gabriele Ruškyte, was impressive in the U-13 Girls 1500m, while brothers Charlie and Arthur Sands competed in the Boys U-13 1500m and the latter took home the eighth place medal.

Last but not least, Paul Barnes obtaining the special 50th Anniversary medal in Glenmore AC's 5k Road Race.
