Our Lady's teams produce knockout performances

AFTER an anxious wait for the draws for the knockout stages of the various school competitions, Our Lady's College received the good news that all five of their teams had indeed qualified.

The U-19 Senior A team, as it turned out, have done well enough to go straight through to the semis and they will play Hartstown Community School for a place in this year's final on 30th January. Having only beaten Hartstown in the league by a single basket, they will need a better performance next time around.

The U-19 Senior B team finished second in their section and they have a home draw against St Dominic's, Ballyfermot, while the third-placed U-19 Senior C team's knockout clash with Presentation College was due to take place on Thursday of this week (18th) in Terenure.

The U-16 Cadette A team cruised through their preliminary rounds and finished comfortably in top spot, allowing them a home draw against Colaiste Bride of Clondalkin on Tuesday 7th January. And to their relief, the U-16 Cadette B team managed to finish in third position and therefore avoided playing their school pals in the knockout stages. Instead, they will travel away to Santa Sabina in Sutton in early January.
