Joy of six as Meath run rings round their rivals

The Meath 'A' team lived up to their billing when capturing the All-Ireland Rings title for the sixth year in a row at the championships in Dublin's Green Isle Hotel over the weekend.

Theirs was one of a host of successes for the Royal County, led by Malcolm Halpenny who won his fourth 'A' individual title, Jim McDonald (fifth Over-65 title) and Jamie McDonald who picked up his maiden Irish championship at Under-16 level.

Meath's ladies and the men's second team both lost out in their finals and there were runners-up finishes for three other Meath competitors in Trevor Byrne, Dylan Gargan and Johnny Campbell.
