Erinn and Karlis are just outstanding for Dunleer

Athletics

Erinn Leavy and Karlis Kaugars once again led the way for Dunleer AC as they bagged five gold medals and four championship bests between them at last weekend's Leinster Juveniles competition in Tullamore.

Karlis claimed a hat-trick in the Under-15 throwing events (javelin, shot putt and discus) and both Erinn's victories - in the Under-14 800 and 1500m - were achieved in championship best times.

It was also a big day for their Dunleer clubmate Anthony Dillon as he won a set of Leinster medals - gold in the Inter Club Junior Men's 4x400m relay, silver in the Inter-County 4x100m relay and bronze in his individual 100m in the Under-19 age group.

Others to medal for Dunleer were Neasa Reilly (Under-17 800m gold & 1500m bronze), Liene Kaugare (Under-18 javelin gold), Conor Matthews (Under-19 800m silver), Danny O'Brien (Under-19 3,000m silver), Finn Reilly (Under-19 400m silver), Peter Meegan (Under-18 3,000m bronze) and Rebecca Baldwin (Under-14 800m bronze).

Others who performed very well in the individual events but finished just out of the medals on this occasion were Ciara Reilly, Seán Connaughton, Oisín Cheshire, Aeyla Orr, Dáire Matthews, Tadg Reilly, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Fran Whelan.

Apart from Dillon, Dunleer's other Inter-County Relay medallists were Aeyla Orr, Peter Meegan, Conor Matthews, Fran Whelan and Finn Reilly.
