Curraha fail in survival attempt

Na Fianna 0-11 Curraha 0-10 CURRAHAS brave bid to avoid the relegation play offs of the IFC failed narrowly as they went down by the minimum to Na Fianna at Dunsany last Saturday evening.

The result however was a sigh of relief for Sean Kelly’s side who pipped Drumree for the last place in the knock out stages, and also for Drumconrath whose intermediate status was guaranteed for another year at least.

Curraha were in contention throughout and had fine displays from Locky Keogh, Stephen Morgan, Noel Keogh and Ian McManus.

The minimum also separated the sides at the break, Na Fianna leading 0-4 to 0-3.

CURRAHA — L Carroll, C Bermingham, R Hetherton, N McDermott, S Morgan, L Keogh, B Doyle, P Hetherton 0-1, N Keogh 0-3, D Hanley, A Carroll 0-2, E Carroll, C McManus, I McManus 0-4, G Dowling. Subs: G Butler for G Dowling.
