Under-20s claim early scalp with win over Dublin
U-20 Kerins Cup: Meath 2-13 Dublin 2-11
A late goal from Seneschalstown's Dylan Keating sealed victory for Meath in the opening round of the U-20 Development League at Dunganny on Saturday.
The game was deep into added time when substitute Keating struck to give the home side the win against last year's beaten All-Ireland finalists.
Dublin dominated the opening half and had built up a 2-8 to 0-4 lead with the help of goals from Ciaran McKeown and Ciaran Murphy before Nobber's Jordan Morris struck for a Meath goal on the stroke of half-time.
The visitors made wholesale changes at the start of the second half, bringing on last year's Under-20 Player of the Year Ciaran Archer amongst others - but they were outscored eight points to one as Meath drew level by the 52nd minute, with Luke Mitchell making a notable impact off the bench.
Ratoath's Daithi McGowan pointed Meath ahead for the first time since the opening passages before Dublin drew level. However, Keating's goal deep into injury time sealed it.
Meath are away to Laois this Saturday in round two, with throw-in at 2pm. The venue has yet to be confirmed. Laois were heavily beaten by Kildare in their first outing - 2-17 to 1-7 - with Shane O'Sullivan hitting eight points for the victors.
