Louth and Meath to bring curtain down on Division 2 NFL campaign

LOUTH and Meath will bring the curtain down on the group stages of their 2014 NFL Division 2 campaign with a final round clash at a Wee County venue on April 6th.

Date and times were set for the NFL recently which starts on February 1st, and it sees Louth with four home ties and three away while the Royals will be on the road for four of their seven outings.

The counties last clashed in the league, also in a final round tie, in 2012 when Louth registered a 2-14 to 1-8 win over the Seamus McEnaney managed side. That defeat condemned Meath to relegation to Division 3 but they made a swift return with promotion at the first attempt under the guidance of Mick O'Dowd.

Aidan O'Rourke's (pictured) side will have home advantage in their two opening round ties against Armagh, on Sunday, February 2nd, and the following Sunday they play hosts to Laois. They have one Saturday evening tie which is away to Down on March 1st at 7pm.

Two of Meath's home ties will be floodlit games, against Armagh and Down, while their away fixture against Laois will also be played under lights.
