Glyde return to summit
Glyde Rangers moved back level with Westerns at the top of Division 3 following their four-point victory over Glen Emmets on Monday night.
Glyde Rangers 1-11 Glen Emmets 0-10
In a game that was closely contested throughout at Tullyallen, it was the visitors who always had the slight edge, with Jake Stewart's first half goal proving decisive.
The teams traded points in the first quarter and when Glyde went 0-4 to 0-3 ahead it looked as if there would be very little between the teams at the break.
However, the Tallanstown men made the decisive move as they increased the gap to two points before Stewart scored the only goal of the game with a cool finish to see his side lead by 1-5 to 0-3 at half time.
The Emmets came out fighting at the start of the second half and landed the first three points, including a brace from Ronan Grufferty, to cut the gap to two points.
Glyde restored their advantage at 1-8 to 0-6 on 23 minutes, but the game was back in the melting pot entering the closing minutes when the home side cut the gap back to 1-9 to 0-10.
However, they couldn't complete the comeback and Glyde secured a deserved victory with two late points.
