Dowdallshill/Cooley march into semi-finals

THE Dowdallshill/Cooley minor ladies combination progressed to the minor championship semi final after defeating a young but strong Glyde/Marys on Sunday morning by 6-15 to 2-4.

Hill/Cooley led from the start through excellent scores from Emily Norton, Megan Ferguson and Eibhlin Rice. Glyde/Marys battled well and reduced the arrears back to 0-11 to 1-3 at half time.

Glyde/Marys came out the stronger of the two for the opening exchanges of the second half and scored a well taken goal and a couple of points to reduce the gap to just two points.

However, Hill/Cooley showed their experience and kicked on to stretch out their lead once again. Excellent strikes from Emily Norton, Emily Cooney, Eibhlin Rice and Sarah Mc Aleer put the game beyond Glyde/Marys reach. Up next for Dowdallshill/Cooley is sure to be a fierce clash when they face St. Fechins in the semi final on Sunday.
