Mayor Paul Bell has confirmed that the planned complete resurfacing of Mary Street will proceed in August and will hopefully be completed in time for schools returning in September.

"I have also confirmed that speed ramps approved for replacement in Ballsgrove will proceed in August once the tendering process has been completed. This also applies to ramps due for installation in St Finian's Park and Marian Park and I have committed to residents in both these areas that I will personally keep Council's focus on making these works happen as committed too. I can also confirm that road safety measures approved for Matthews Lane outside Knockbrack Downs will also proceed as committed too. All the works referred to have been put out to public tender as a "bundle". The Mayor confirmed.

Mayor Bell also called for Council to increase level of road marking as many areas and key junctions have no visible road markings and this is a safety which needs constant attention with a budget of €75,000 made available for 2019.
