Van fire

A VAN that caught fire at junction 12 of the M1 northbound at around lunchtime on Wednesday was extinguished by fire service personnel from Drogheda and Duneleer.

One unit from Drogheda Fire Brigade and one from Dunleer attended the scene to tackle the blaze at around 12.30pm. A spokesperson for Louth County Council said 'no other vehicle was involved in the incident'. There were no reports of any injuries and a Garda spokesperson said the section of the road has reopened after being 'partially blocked' for some time.
