Organisers will be hoping Dunleer becomes 'Funleer' when the judges for the national Pride of Place event arrive in the town on Tuesday August 15th from 2-5pm.

The Pride of Place competition is a 32 county all-Ireland competition and is about showing respect and inclusion for every sector in the community, young, old, rich or poor and creating communities to which the people of the town are proud to say they belong.

Dunleer has been chosen by Louth County Council to represent Louth in the Pride of Place 2017 in the small town category at the All Ireland Final.

Two Judges will arrive to see all that Dunleer has to offer - from businesses, industry, clubs and organisations and individuals.

'Most organisations are taking part on the day to present their club and Dunleer in the best possible light.

'The Pride of Place committee have been working on the visit for the last few months and requests that the community of Dunleer come out in force to welcome the Judges at the Market house at 2pm on 15th August and also join them around 5pm at the Primary School on Ardee Road to make a presentation,' a spokesperson stated.
