Tender stage next for new Ardee school
While the planning process for the new Educate Together school in Ardee is progressing, designers have described it as a 'challenging project', due to the archaeological heritage around the site.
The project is currently advancing through the Stage 2B Detailed Design process, which includes applications for planning permission, Fire Safety Certification, Disability Access Certification and the preparation of tender documents.
There is also a need to carefully plan road access from the N52, in relation to the site development.
The project's Quantity Surveyor is currently working with the Design Team to ensure that the proposed building achieves maximum value-for-money.
A date for completion of the Stage 2B tender documentation is expected to be announced shortly, which will allow the project to go to tender.
Local councillor Dolores Minogue says that the project is vital and is aware that all elements of the process need to be completed. 'It has taken a long time to get to this stage but hopefully it can go to tender shortly,' she added.
