Suretank sets up new base in brazil
IT'S BEEN a world beating week for Dunleer firm Suretank, securing a $4 million order from the United States and setting up a new base in Brazil.
The world's leading provider of engineered transport solutions to the offshore oil and gas industry, Suretank secured its first major US order since launching its new manufacturing facility in Houma, Louisiana in March when a Houston firm came on board with the multi million euro deal.
News of the contract came as Suretank participated in a trade mission to Texas organised by Enterprise Ireland and led by the Irish Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mr Richard Bruton TD.
Welcoming the announcement Minister Bruton said: "At the centre of our Action Plan for Jobs is supporting a powerful engine of Irish enterprise. Suretank is a great example of the type of company we are trying to support – an innovative Irish company, manufacturing high-tech equipment for export markets, selling it to some of the biggest companies in the world and creating jobs in its headquarters in Louth."
Martin Laverty, Market Development Director at Suretank, explained: "Securing this contract is a testament to the products that we produce, the quality standards we uphold and the market reputation that we've built up. We're a global organisation, but very proud of our Irish roots so this contract win comes at an opportune time when we're supporting an Irish trade mission to the US."
Suretank products are found worldwide, including the North Sea, West Africa, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Caspian, Sakhalin, India, Australia, Middle East and the Far East.
Earlier last week, the firm had the official launch of Suretank Latin America, based in a state of the art facility in the Southern Brazilian, Rio Grande do Sul State, in the city of Caxias do Sul. "The offshore market in Brazil continues to grow and expand with strong offshore activity predicted for the coming years. The Suretank philosophy is to deliver best in class customer solutions with a focus on safety from locally situated facilities," John Fitzgerald, Suretank CEO said. Suretank has been active in Brazil for the past 24 months.
