St Mary's Bridge joint to cost €100,000 to repair

Giant potholes on St Mary's Bridge have been caused as the result of the joint failing on the bridge and it will cost in the region of €50,000 to €100,000 to repair it.

Engineer Mark Johnson revealed that it had worn away and they were getting prices for it.

It could three months for the job to be done.

Mayor Frank Godfrey brought up the issue and said that the holes were the worst he had ever seen. 'One of them is so big, you could fish in it.'

He added that the docklands area were suffering with its roads due to the heavy volume of heavy lorries and damage was being done to cars as a result.
