Severe dumping at King Street clothes banks

Calls have been made this week to remove the clothes banks at the King Street car park after a huge amount of dumping at the location in the past week.

Bins were seen to be overflowing on Monday and local councillor Paul Bell is seeking their long term removal.

"The organisations who own the clothing bring banks are actually responsible for their maintenance and upkeep. I observed that on Thursday last all the clothing bring banks were completely full. I then checked the King Street facility over the weekend and was shocked to witness clothing dumped all round the bins,' he stated.

He tried to contact the organisations without success.

The clothing banks do ask people not to leave clothes if the banks are full, warning they could result in fines.
