THE launch of Seamus O'Neill's local election campagn was given the All-Star treatment last week.
The well-known Duleek publican naturally held the bash in his own pub, and singing GAA AllStars David Beggy and Barney Rock were on hand last Thursday night to launch the Independent local election hopeful.
'It was very well-supported, and there was a great turnout, although Jack O'Shea was tied-up with football business so couldn't make it,' says Seamus. Mr O'Neill is hoping to win over the east Meath community for a seat on Meath County Council.
At the launch he said if elected he planned to tackle the current planning situation. 'It is appalling that people who were born and bred in the area cannot get permission to build on their own land,' he said.
He also pledged to work hard on getting a hospice for the people of east Meath and to tackle the lack of infrastructure and community facilities in the area.
