Public lighting to be extended out to Duleek schools by Meath County Council

East Meath Fianna Fail Councillor Stephen McKee has warmly welcomed the news that Meath County Council have given approval for public street lighting out to Duleek National School from the village.

McKee stated: 'This is good news for local residents and families. I have been lobbying the Council over a period of time on this issue and I am pleased to say that the Council now tell me that the scheme will proceed this year.'

'The addition of public lighting out the school road in Duleek will improve safety in the area, particularly for our young children walking or cycling to and from school during the dark Winter months. We are all trying to encourage healthy active lifestyles and this starts from childhood. There are also many people who regularly walk and fun this route. This scheme will be of benefit to everyone in the area' concluded McKee.
