Pothole politics

Fine Gael Local Elections candidate Garrett O'Dowd has called for an end to pothole politics.

c 'A new council app will allow citizens to report issues immediately to the council.

'I intend to lobby the council for this app which is based on a proven international model.

'This app will act as reporting function for local issues, and also promote tourism and business by sharing information and services offered by the council' he added.

There is an accident waiting to happen at the turn for the TLT Theatre at Matthews Lane South. That's the view of local councillor Tommy Byrne. 'There is in fact a pedestrian crossing close to the corner with no flashing amber light. Furthermore the light is out on the existing public light stand adjacent.'

He wants the council to install flashing lights immediately.
