Pauline part of a great Sunhill nursing team

A representative of Sunhill Nursing Home in Termonfeckin is excitedly preparing for the Nursing Homes Ireland Care Awards 2018, in association with Homecare Medical Supplies. Pauline Conlon has reached the final of the Carer of the Year Award.

Pauline is one of 27 finalists across a range of disciplines within the nursing home sector who are going forward to the national awards ceremony final that will take place Thursday 15th November at Citywest Hotel, Co Dublin.

RTE presenter Marty Whelan will MC the awards ceremony.

Nominations were invited and received from 374 NHI Member nursing homes that are based in communities across Ireland. The nine NHI Care Awards categories recognise nurses, carers, ancillary workers, activity coordinators, dining and nutrition in nursing homes, excellence in dementia care, community initiative, end of life care and the contribution of residents to nursing home life.

Tadhg Daly, NHI CEO congratulated the finalist. "Congratulations to Pauline and Sunhill Nursing Home for the outstanding accomplishment of reaching the final of this national awards ceremony. The standard of entry this year was exceptional, with nominations submitted for personnel working in nursing homes across the country. The staff and residents of Sunhill, and the wider community, should be immensely proud of Pauline's achievement in reaching the final."

"The NHI Care Awards are a celebration of the fantastic care being provided by dedicated individuals and care teams in our 374 Member nursing homes in communities across Ireland. They celebrate the remarkable dedication of staff and nursing homes in meeting and going beyond the healthcare and social care needs of the very special people living within these homes from home."
