Man shot in the neck in attempted gangland-style hit in M1 Retail Park

The latest gangland style attack took place on February 26 when at about 2.45 pm, a man in his 30s left a premises in the M1 Retail Park and got into a white Vauxhall Astra with two other men.

A black Volkswagen Passat with the partial registration 132 D pulled up close to the Astra and a number of shots were fired into the Astra. The man in his 30s, a passenger in the car, was struck at least once. The other two occupants were not injured.

The car was driven to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital and the injured man was treated for serious wounds to his neck and face.

The black Passat also drove from the scene and was found later that day on fire at Seapoint in Termonfeckin.

Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the M1 Retail Park last Tuesday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm to contact them.
