Irish Cement pay visit to the new Duleek centre

The Management Committee behind the Duleek, Bellewstown & District Community Facility invited Irish Cement to visit the construction site of the €1.25 million facility located just outside Duleek at the GAA grounds.

Construction works began late last year and completion of the two-storey building with changing rooms, a sports hall and meeting rooms as well as car parking facilities is due for completion in early 2020.

Much of the groundwork and foundations for the facility have been completed with most of the work being carried out by local construction firms.

The project has brought together members of local sporting clubs and community groups who have been actively co-operating over the past 2 years on planning and fundraising for the project.

Irish Cement donated €100,000 over three years to the construction costs of the project.

Indaver Ireland contributed €300,000 under their Community Grants Scheme.

David O'Brien from Irish Cement said, "We are delighted to be able to support the construction of this ambitious community facility. There is huge support locally for the project and when it is completed it will give a great boost to local sports and community organisations."

Management Committee Chairman Oliver Cudden who was leading the site visit said, "We are very grateful to Irish Cement and Indaver and all the local businesses who have backed the project to date. More money will be needed to complete the project which is why we are launching our 'Buy a Block' campaign in April to encourage more support for this fantastic local facility that will benefit the whole community."
