Generous St Oliver's CC Transition Year students doing their bit for others

Students of transition year in St. Oliver's Community College were recently involved in a very significant food appeal in aid of St. Vincent De Paul. Students, with the generosity of staff and local businesses donated 15 hampers to SVP for donation amongst the local community.

Ireland is one of the richest countries in the world yet almost 800,000 people are living in poverty. 1 in 3 people living in poverty are children. This knowledge inspired the students of St. Oliver's to take action. Transition year students from class Boyne want to make Drogheda a more balanced community and help the many families in the local community in need of assistance around this time of year.

The class do not intend on stopping there. Students are currently planning to collect unwanted socks, hats and gloves early in the New Year to donate to the homeless community.

Ms. Hoey and her TY Boyne class did a great job in getting the appeal organised.
