Frank's Cottage Fleadh ready!

Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2019

Former Mayor Frank Godfrey was one of the most colourful characters at last year's Fleadh Cheoil and although he might not be part of the council this year - he'll be back in action come the week-long event.

Frank enjoyed the perfect build up last week when he staged his regular session at Frank's Country Cottage in Donore.

It was packed out with singers, dancers and musicians and it is very likely to become a visitor's attraction for the Fleadh as well.

Frank's home has become a well-known spot for music and song and he hopes to see that continue into the future.

He says he welcomes the arrival of the Fleadh again and feels the many visitors from around the world will receive a great welcome in the town and the general area.

'It has been great for Drogheda, Louth and Meath and hopefully the legacy of what it has brought can continue into the future,' he stated.

Certainly with his 'music house' in Donore, he'll be playing his part in keeping the tradition going.
