Ex CNN anchor to talk on Alzheimers
One of the country's leading national and internationally-renowned journalists is coming to speak on Alzheimer's in Drogheda.
RTE presenter and former CNN anchor, Fionnuala Sweeney, is to speak at the monthly Memory Cafe at Relish in Laurence Street on Tuesday, July 10.
A multi-award winning journalist during her CNN days, Ms Sweeney has a special interest in dementia and Alzheimer's.
She says she is particularly focused on finding ways of early detection.
She points out that 4,000 additional people every year are suffering from these illnesses.
Ms Sweeney is keen to spread the word on trying to find ways of helping victims and their families.
The top personality will be remembered by many for presenting the Eurovision Song Contest from Mill Street in 1993.
She currently presents the current affairs programme, The Late Debate, on Thursday nights at 10pm.
Her appearance at the Memory Cafe is from 6 to 8pm and, as always, admission is free.
All are welcome.
