Ella sings through the rain as she delights Drogheda

Hubert Murphy

It was quite an introduction to Drogheda and Ireland for Australian singing sensation Ella Roberts on Sunday. She arrived into town to perform on the Fleadh TV stage as a dancer with Fusion Fighters and on Sunday, made her mark at the Gig Rig.

As the rains poured down her pure voice echoed around Bolton Square, amidst the umbrellas. Regarded as the best Celtic singer in Australia, Ella is making Ireland home for the moment and heads to Germany this week and will be back to do shows around the country in the future.

'Drogheda was wonderful,' she stated.

She said she couldn't believe the numbers and everybody was very friendly. She has a couple of singles in the pipeline and was intrigued with the thought of including Laurence's Gate in a video in the future.
