Louth County Council officials have said there is 'no change' to the plans for an entrance road at the rear of Scoil Bhride in Dunleer, connected to the new 80 home estate being built in the area.

Cllr Colm Markey looked for assurances that the commitments made to the school authorities in respect of the road, would be honoured.

Addressing the area council meeting in Ardee, he asked what was the commencement date on the project.

It has been intended to begin works some weeks ago, but the council confirmed that documentation had been signed last week which had been hoped would have been done before Christmas.

Hedges have been cleared on the site and nows works can begin in a 'matter of weeks.' Director of Housing Paddy Donnelly said that if an agreement had been made with the school in relation to the road then it should not be an issue and he had heard nothing different.
