Council clear Glen stream after further blockages
Independent Councillor Kevin Callan has said the operation undertaken by Louth County Council to clear the stream at the Glen, Newfoundwell has been a success again and that the area will benefit from the work which has been undertaken.
The councillor raised the issue at the April meeting of where he informed council officials that the waterway was blocked again and asked if something could be done to rectify the problem.
Senior Engineer Mark Johnson said they would look into the matter.
Speaking to the Drogheda Independent Councillor Callan said that following the meeting the councils operation section had arranged for works to clear the stream in the area beside the Newfoundwell Road.
'The stream itself has on occasion become filled with deposits of waste and litter and this has blocked the stream from exiting under Road. I am very grateful to the local resident who alerted me again that it had blocked,' he said.
