Sport can unite all, and the sun shone down on the 13 teams which took part in the second annual Boyne Cup soccer tournament in Gormanston last week.
Over 200 young soccer players from both sides of the border flocked to the reconciliation tournament, which aims to unite communities which might traditionally be divided.
Organiser Kieran Lucid says the event is going from strength to strength, and this year was a great success.
'All the boys thoroughly enjoyed the matches, and the venue at Gormanston Park is ideally located midway between north and Dublin for us,' he told the Drogheda Independent.
'We had eight teams last year, and 13 this year, so we are looking forward to welcoming even more in 2019, and we hope some girl's soccer teams would also become involved.'
Players stayed with their own clubs on the Saturday, and that evening were mixed into Champions League teams.
