Beamore crossing junction is big success

Hubert Murphy

The Beamore Road, at the junctions with Rosevale, Ard Ri and Meadowview, has been the subject of various appeals for a pedestrian crossing and it has been delivered at long last

The new facility is set to improve road safety for those attending schools in the area. Local Fianna Fail Councillor for South Drogheda and East Meath, Stephen McKee, has warmly welcomed the completed project.

'I am delighted to have helped deliver the new pedestrian crossing on the Beamore Road, close to the entrance to Rosevale. This follows extensive lobbying and discussions I held with Meath County Council to see this work carried out.

'Road safety will improve for all local school children and for residents in Rosevale, Avourween, Legavooren, Millmount Abbey and Ard Ri.'  He paid his thanks to the local residents who had worked with him over the past year to keep the pressure on the council to get the job done. The project is seen as good co-operation between Louth and Meath on the county boundary.
