Arthur's Day

A HOST of musical events will be taking place in Drogheda this Thursday to coincide with Arthur's Day.

Cagney's wil host a jazz session; the Black Bull will showcase Eoin Hancock and Rob And Lynched; the Westcourt Hotel hosts Paddy McArdle; Wm Cairnes & Son have 2morrows Party, Bounty Hunters and Tequila Rose on their stage; and you can see Rap Scallion and The Bold Boys Zap Wally And Paddy at Clarke's.


THERE will be a meeting on Monday night, September 30, at 8 p.m. in the Westcourt Hotel, Drogheda, for those on the council housing list, in mortgage arrears, homeless people and any other housing issues.


DROGHEDA Library invites all children who have completed the summer reading challenge to a special ceremony at the library on Saturday, September 28, at 11.30 a.m. where each child will receive a certificate.

The Roald Dahl competitions are currently running at the library until the end of September. More library details from 9876162.

THE Drogheda Youth Choral Festival is in the Barbican on November 20.

Entry for the event, for all school and youth choirs, is now open and closes on November 8. The event was founded in 2000 to honour the great Eugene Mooney.
