Ablevision launch

ABLEVISION IRELAND opens its new office in the Local Heroes hub in West Street last week.

It will coordinate the activities of Ablevision Ireland and follows on its recent first public exposure on RTE'S Nationwide in April.

' This new office will open up contacts with the community and particularly with local media including TV, Radio and the printed press,' says Orlaith Carmody of Media Training and a founder of Ablevision Ireland.

Ablevision encourages adults with Intellectual Disability to use the latest media technology to find extra ways of expressing themselves and to improve their communication skills.

' The Ablevision Ireland project will demonstrate integration at its best with the ground breaking ' buddy' system in operation. It shows that initiatives at local level give not only an economic boost but also a moral boost,' says local councillor and founder of Ablevision Ireland Michael O Dowd

Eamonn Mceneaney has recently been appointed Ablevision's Development and Team Coordinator and Eamonn can be contacted at the Local Heroes office.
