250 new homes for Beamore area
East Meath Fianna Fáil Councillor, Stephen McKee, is calling on Meath County Council to prioritise the construction of new link road parallel to the current Beamore Road as part of the development of new homes at Bryanstown, Beamore.
McKee stated: 'An Bord Pleanala have just granted planning permission for 250 homes at Bryanstown on the Beamore Road near Legavooren Manor. As part of the planning conditions, the Developer must pay close to €1 million towards the costs of a new link road between Colpe roundabout and the M1 Motorway running parallel to the Beamore Road.'
McKee stated: 'Unfortunately, we have huge road safety issues on the Beamore Road and adjoining roads at Cooperhill and Drogheda Road. This is already a very busy route and a new link road between Colpe and the M1 exchange close to the Boann Distillery should take a lot of traffic off the Beamore Road which would be good news for those living along the road.'
He says further funding as part of the conditions should include a roundabout at the Beamore Road junction.
