Tractor and car run

The Drumcar tractor and car run will take place on Sunday, April 13, in aid of Clogherhead Lifeboat and the Special Baby Care Unit, Lourdes Hospital. The tractors and cars will leave from IFM, Mullins Cross at 11 a.m. and will travel to Port strand, Clogherhead, arriving from 12.30 p.m. onwards, allowing for the slow speed of some vintage machines.

The public are invited to view a range of vintage cars and tractors at Port strand where the Clogherhead Lifeboat will be afloat close to the shore. Crew members will be on hand to answer questions on the Lifeboat and general sea safety.

The vintage rally will travel from Port to Drumcar arriving at Myles O'Reilly's farm at 4 p.m. where model plant and farm machinery will be on display. Further details on Facebook.


Oliver Plunketts GFC are holding a special Presentation Night for the members of the successful 2A Championship last year this coming Saturday in Foley's, Trinity Street. It promises to be a great evening with entertainment and edibles being provided.


The Plunketts players are organising a table quiz this Saturday evening in Foley's to raise funds for the club and to assist with a number of upcoming special events.

Tables cost €40 and there are excellent prizes for the raffle and spot prizes besides!


The 23rd annual Rathkenny Charity 5K walk in aid of the Friends of St Lukes Hospital Dublin, will take place on Saturday, May 10, at 6 p.m from Lacken pub Rathkenny. Spoinsorship cards are now available from Sheila on (046) 9054603 or (086) 0741977 or register on the evening from 5 p.m.


Foroige Donore youth club are organising a bake sale/jumble sale in Donore parish hall on Sunday, April 13, at 11 a.m. in aid of A Chance for Alice.
