School musical

SUPER Trouper, the musical by the Sacred Heart fifth years, takes place in the TLT on December 18 at 8 p.m.

The North East Cancer Research and Educaton Trust charity calendars and cards are available to buy from The Westcourt Hotel in Drogheda and the Oncology Unit in OLOL Hospital Drogheda.

Anybody who has an elderly relative, friend or neighbour living in the Monasterboice area and who would like a pendent alarm or smoke alarm can contact a member of the Monasterboice and District Community Alert committee for further information.

There is no membership fee and the only cost the receiver is liable for, is the cost of any text alert sent. The first batch of just over 300 locals who already registered their mobile phone contact number will have already been sent a text message informing them that the Text Alert system is now operational. It should be noted that the next batch of mobile phone numbers to be processed by our text messaging provider is likely to be in early 2014.

In the draw of Wednesday, December 11, when there was a jackpot of €8,550 up for grabs, the numbers drawn were 3, 10, 13, 21. No winner. Three Lucky Dip winners, who receive €50 each, are Teresa Flood - Dunleer; Mary O'Neill - Drogheda; Joe Brown - C/O O'Cassey's Bar.

The next draw takes place on Wednesday, December 18, in the BFRRS Boathouse on the Marsh Road, when the jackpot will be €8,600. This will be the last draw before the Christmas break.

Aisteoirí na Boinne are presently in the middle of rehearsals for their forthcoming production of wake in the west by M.J. Ginnelly.
