News in brief

Run to remember the late Joe Byrne - The Joe Byrne remembrance run/walk will take place on Saturday 11th at 10:30am with a Collection/Donations for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.

Joe passed away suddenly last month in the USA and the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust assisted Joe's family in taking him home to his native Togher for burial.

In memory of Joe and as a thank you to the Kevin Bell Trust, a walk/run of the Dillonstown Loop (approx 5km), will take place next Saturday 11th after Joe's months mind mass, starting at Dillonstown Community Centre. Tea and coffee will be served in the hall after.

Collections will be made for the Kevin Bell Trust.

Sharon hosts Slane meeting on January 22

Councillor Sharon Keogan is hosting a public meeting in the Conyngham Arms Hotel on Wednesday January 22 at 8pm.

It is a community safety and drug awarness talk and will feature An Garda Siochana, drug and addiction counsellors and mental health advocates.
