Drogs 'Night at the Dogs'

Drogheda United fundraising night 'Night at the Dogs' takes place on Saturday, August 30 in Dundalk Stadium.

Tickets are €25 which includes admission, race card, finger food, live greyhound racing, after race entertainment and transport from Drogheda to and from the Dundalk Stadium.

If you are unable to attend but would like to get involved. Maybe you would like to name a dog or be a dog's trainer. This costs €10.

'We are also looking for businesses or groups of individuals to sponsor each of the races and also looking spot prizes for the raffle on the night,' a club spokesperson stated.

Drogheda Sinn Féin members and supporters will hold a protest to show support and solidarity with the people of Gaza at 1pm at the Tholsel on West Street on Friday, August 8.

'We are asking as many as possible to attend and to bring any flags etc with you. Everyone welcome,' a statement added.


THE annual golf classic run by the Oliver Plunkett's club was an outstanding success and the club wishes to sincerely thank all who supported the event as participants, sponsors or organisers.

Seapoint was awash with former players and the latest recruits from the playing ranks into the golfing fraternity. The course looked splendid and the meal was relished by all. Winners were JB's, David Lambe and Foley's. nearest the Pin was won by Robert Giggins and Robert Brodigan.

A great night was had by all in Foley's afterwards where the prizes were presented and great food was again available.

'Congratulations to all winners and organisers. All sponsors will be contacted to thank them for their generous support which was greatly appreciated,' a club spokesperson remarked.
