Council move swiftly to plug water leak
I HAVE to give the council credit on two fronts this week, especially one incident that was tackled in a matter of days.
Two weeks ago we ran a piece on a persistent water leak on the backlanes, just around the corner from the old Sound Shop. It had been gushing out for months, actually causing a stream of water to build up on the left hand side of the street as you walk up towards Shop Street.
But within two days of the issue being highlighted the council were on scene and did a great job, ripping up the path, repairing the leak and setting a new valve.
And a pothole that was a real issue on the Chord Road, almost next to the boundary stone, has at last been filled in.
