It's become a highlight of many women's calendars, but sadly the annual uplifting event 'Dip in the Nip' has fallen foul of COVID 19, but fear not, the brilliant team behind the NECRET fundraiser are bringing you a little virtual twist to the regular beach antics for 2020.

This year's Dip is going online with a reversed dress code, and they'd like the whole family to dip, 'clothes and all' at home, in a pool, bath, hot tub, empty rubbish skip, be drenched by a hose or a shower.

'We all know due to the COVID 19 restrictions, we have all had to cancel attending work events, weddings, First Communions, Confirmations, birthday parties the list is endless but now we are giving you an excuse to get all dressed up while still fundraising for NECRET who support the North East Oncology Unit in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital,' says organiser Karen Healy, who has already taken to a hot tub in her best frock.

'Be imaginative, get dressed in your work wear, best dinner-dance wear, party wear, out and about wear, we don't care what you wear so long as you dip yourself in water and get absolutely dripping wet.'

When your Dip is done, challenge someone you love to do exactly the same thing, and you have from September until November to challenge your pals.

'Social distance and safety must be your number one concern and after that have fun raising much needed funds for NECRET in their fight against cancer, whose mission to improve the treatment and outcome of people with cancer supporting cutting edge treatment and care,' adds Karen. 'Go on, 'Dip and Drip' for NECRET!
