Barmeath day for Tidy Towns

The Dunleer Tidy Towns are holding an afternoon Tea Party at Barmeath Castle near Dunleer on Sunday 21st July from 2pm to 5pm. It is an outdoor event for all the family. There will be Tea or coffee and cakes for all attending the event. Children under 12 enter free of charge. Adult charge is €5

The castle grounds will be open to all people attending the event from 2pm to 5pm. You can visit the maize at the back or the 4 acres of walled garden or see the 18th Century Bridge. There are a few kilometres of paths around the grounds to take a walk.

To entertain the audience for the afternoon there will be a band and Guest Artist. The band in attendance will be the Full Shilling and guest appearance of Stephen Callan direct from the Market House Concert.

Around 3.15pm in the afternoon they will have a Competition where the best Prince and Prince will be crowned by the Bellews of the Castle. They will also be taken up to the roof of the castle as part of their prize by the Bellews. So if you have a young child or grandchild or any child of age 10 yrs. or younger, they could win a prize. There will be a small prize for all participants.

For other children in attendance there will be Face Painting by master of the trade Natalie Curry.

Parking facilities are available on the grounds in the vicinity of the Tea area. For special needs here will be parking in front of the castle. The Castle is about 2 -3 miles out from Dunleer towards Clogherhead and it will be signposted from Dunleer.
