Around the districts: Stamullen, Tullyallen, Termonfeckin
Stamullen: Bellewstown Races - The second race meeting on the far-famed Bellewstown Hill will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, August 28th & 29th next with both meetings being evening events.
This particular race meeting in late August has become very much associated amongst locals across the wider area of East Meath with the ending of the summer; the evenings becoming that little bit darker, children back at school and heating turned back on in the homes.
While the early meeting on the hill in the month of July was always associated with the beginning of summer, this secondary meeting event on the ancient `playing fields of Bellewstown` at the close of August is perhaps a fitting way to end what has been relatively a pretty good one in both weather wise and the growing and harvesting of the crops and fruit: See you on the Hill.

We have become used to the traffic lights at the Bridge in Termonfeckin this few years. Now we will have to get used to a second set of lights. The lights positioned on the crossing between Scoil Naomh Feichin and the Church of the Immaculate Conception on the Baltray Road are now operational. This also allows time to get used to them before the School reopens at the end of the month.
Congratulations to Richard Mc Donnell, eldest son of Michael and Cathriena Mc Donnell, Cannontown on his recent marriage to Ruth Rutledge, daughter of Frank and Aislinn, Stillorgan, Dublin.
